I have a 1995 90 HP Force that runs fine but the idle speed has been low for quite some time and often would die when idling in neutral. Often disengaged the prop and gave it a little gas to keep it going with a quick shift into gear to take off. After not using the boat for about 9 months, I find I have to disengage the prop and give it quite a bit of gas to start it and run it. If I drop it to neutral (normal idle) it immediately dies. I have the repair manual but it far less than clear about how to raise the idle speed. Any pointers would be appreciated.

see this link for the correct place to adjust it: http://forums.iboats.com/filedata/fetch?id=6989558

take the boat out into the lake, let it warm up, loosen this lock nut on this - turn the screw clockwise about 1/8 turn at a time. you want the idle speed to be about 750 rpm while in forward gear. be careful - you might want to shut the engine off between adjustments. PS: don't forget to tighten the lock nut when done - very important.
