I have a Kawasaki jetski 1100 stx , 1997 model. Have a problem when using hose to flush the engine, water keeps going into the cyclinders. Should I be changing the head gasket to fix this probelm.

great .. I think you need to do the flushing the correct way before you totally ruin the bottom end on your ski,, and you need to get all the water out of the crank case as it is rusting up your bearings. never turn on the water if the engine is not running first,, nor turn off the engine before turning off the water,, you are probably filling up the crank case with water from your hose because it is on with the engine off.

Thanks for responding. How do I get the water out of the crank. Tried looking for a dump valve and could not find it..

The only way to get the water out is to burn it off on a 2-cycle engine. Just run it for a while. However, why are you flushing the engine (just out of curiosity)? If you are running in salt or brackish water, I understand; but if just normal lake water I never bother flushing it. I've had a 98 Kawasaki 1100STX for almost a decade and I have never flushed it out. I simply run the engine for 15-20 seconds after pulling out to blow out the water, then turn off the fuel and put it up. I've never had an issue with it, and don't have to worry about when to shut off the water.

pull the sparkplugs and crank the engine to blow the water out of the crank case

Yeah, I forgot to mention that if there if that much water in the cylinders. Don't want to hydrolock the thing. Make sure you ground out the plug wires on the posts behind the engine. Don't want to ignite any gas fumes.
