Just thought I would post as no one else has. Yes, they work, simple principle. Also made (can't mention the name) are exhaust header bolts with small inner Hex Key expandable inserts that lock the bolt, and much easier to take out. :cool:

A Great Tool Every Boater Should Have

If you don't have a set of Craftsman "Bolt-Outs", get one! I have used these things on more stripped, rusted and rounded off bolt heads than I can count, and they work very well. They make regular and impact grade, I got the impact grade set. I'm told that other tool manufacture's make similar tools, but I have not tried any others. <br /><br />I was able to easily remove this exhaust manifold bolt (on the left - next to undamaged bolt), even though there is almost nothing left of the bolt head.<br /><br />

Wow those are great! I should pick up a set of those.. Thats much better then banging on a metric socket and then applying impact.. "i have a very high success rate doing it that way" <br /><br />thanks for posting that.<br /><br />Big-E
