Adding gauges to a new Suzuki DF140?

Hi,

I'm purchasing a new Suzuki DF140. It is going on a new boat so I have a chance to decide what I want for instrumentation. It comes with the single multifunction gauge. I thinking of either replacing that or complementing it with speedometer, fuel gauge, voltmeter, etc.

I like the idea of knowing how the engine is running and not counting on the audible alarms in the multi-function gauge. I can get gauges from Suzuki, does anyone recommend other brands? (Who makes the Suzuki gauges anyway?)

What do have others done? What gauges would you install? Thoughts? Constructive opinions?

Thank you.

gonefishn34,

I had Suzuki guages with my DT-140 (2-stroke). I never had any trouble with them. Can't say as to who makes them.

Forget the speedometer, they're useless. I equip boats this way.

Tachometer (I think you already have?)

Trim

Water Pressure

Volts

Fuel

I like to place the trim and water pressure guages on either side of the tachometer. This allows you to see all thrree of these vital functions at a glance. The volt and fuel guages can go anywhere, you will not be looking at them that much.
