Berryman Chem-Dip For Carb Cleaning Question

Hey guys - I'm doing my carbs and got a gallon if Berryman's to soak them.

Should the liquid be clear? This stuff is black as the ace of spades. I'm sure it will turn as things are dipped, but right off the bat doesn't seem right.

I had a gallon of chem dip with the little basket in it. It was black when it was new.

It's some pretty nasty stuff and different than most degreasers we are used to.

As long as it cleans almost 50 years of gunk, I'll be happy.
