Boston Whaler , Edgewater boats

Hello, I am wanting to buy a boat , problem is I am torn between the Boston Whaler 130 sport<br />and the Edgewater 140 ........I am going to use the boat in mostly freashwater and possiably <br />the Sacramento Delta area........Does anyone know of a Edgewater dealer in California?........<br />Thanks, Bob

Bad Bob,<br /><br />Have you considered an aluminum boat? I would pick the Edgewater if you have it boiled down to the two brands. Have you considered the Triumph?

Howdy, Bad Bob.<br /><br />Well, you certainly have an eye for quality! The Whaler and the Edgewater are probably the finest boats in that size that can be had, at any price.<br /><br />I am a big fan of the classic Whalers, designed by the same man who designed the Edgewater, which would probably be my choice of the two new boats.<br /><br />If you consider used boats I would recommend the classic Whaler 15 or 14 above the new Edgewater.<br /><br />Happy boating!

I have had Boston Whalers for over twenty years. I had the pleasure of meeting Bob Haggerty when he was the chief engineer at Whaler. He now owns Edgewater. A very fine man. I currently have a 24' BW Outrage with twin 175 HP Evinrudes. The question you've got to ask youself is "When it comes time to sell, or move up, you'll have a limited number of people that will know Edgewater." I'm sure you can get a better price on the Edgewater but in the long run your better off with the Whaler. Both fine boats! The're head turners...everybody knows a WHALER. ...but then I'm biased. (I'm just a owner , not a dealer)
