Diesel41, I just researched your '85 Force engine and it seems they made a few models that year and with two different styles of carburetors. They made a bottom jet style and a side jet style. So if you know the type carburetor your have, they offer kits for them... FK10178 is the part number for the carb kit for the bottom jet version and FK10220 is the part number for the side jet type. Hope that helps you out... Oh iboats sells carb kits also, check them out... :thumb:

One way to tell is to pull the bowl off and see if the main jet is on the side, that is how my 85hp is. Of course I didn't check this before I bought the carb kits and ordered the wrong one.

Most time the carb just needs cleaning.
And most time the "rebuild, carb kits" don't have the right stuff in them anyway.
Unless the carb is so corroded it can't be used just clean it with soap or a spray carb cleaner.
When you reassemble, make sure the carb is dry and no cleaners or oil left in the carb.
Stuff like WD or PB or silicone sprays leave a residue and can cause sticking parts.
