CDI?? Yamaha 50ELRS Wet Lower Cylider Misfire

Greetings, My best friend has a 94 Yamaha 50 ELRS that skips. the bottom cylinder is not firing correctly. Checked most everything. The problem is that in the book we own the CDI tolerances are for 60-70 hp only, and then they were for the acc wires, not the ignition wires. The ignition wires we did check and compare to the 60 were high. If some one could email a schematic for the 50 we could check and see if the CDI is junk. the control arm on the unit seems to slip as you move it back and forth, meaning if you move it nice and slow you feel a steady tension. If you move it a little quicker, it feels like it slips. Is this normal? Thanks in advance for your help. Tdaddy

I mispoke; The book did give us all the specs for the 60-70hp. The only specs for the 50hp shown were for the acc. wires. Thanks, Tdaddy

have the identical problem with my 60 hp 1999 yuammie. The top cylinder gets no fire at all. I think it's the CDI but want to check it out before I fork out 500 bones for a new one. How do I test the old CDI?
