cleaning oil tank

I have a 1993 yamaha 25hp (25mlhr) that starts fine,runs for awhile,then slows down and will not speed up again.I think it is not injecting oil and that is slowing it down.How do you remove the tank, clean the screen,and check the pump to see if it works?Thanks

hello<br /> you first buy the service manual and read read read.<br /> then ask questions about anyportion that is not clear. if you suspect its slowing down due to no oil odds are its rebuild time. if it has done it more than twice its probably not oil. the oil output test needs to be done while running with premix and a tachometer. no tach no test,<br />and even yammi does not recommend a multifdunction digital but an inductive pick up. you will need a test wheel as well. the test has two parts one at idle and one at 1500 I think for about 5 min. have you checked the fuel system? normally if it slows due to lack of oil it will go ahead and quit. lock up and not restart for a bit. but the RPM during the test is critical to check output.<br /> good luck and keep posting
