Re: Commuting

13 miles all highway one way. Takes 15 or 20 minutes mostly. A good thing when i'm in a hurry to get home, which is mostly everyday. :D

Re: Commuting

Mine's like SBNs when I am not on airplanes. I make two stops though, one in the Kitchen for coffee and then another, well, never mind . . .

It may end up around 75 feet all up.

FWIW, I commuted 20 miles each way for around 20 years. LA traffic, freeway, the whole bit. Took about 50 minutes. They (basically big brother) have tried to get us all to carpool forever. I wouldn't do it. I figured out that the commute was the only time in my life when I was alone. I actually liked it. Nobody to compete for the radio etc.

Re: Commuting

I work out of my house, so I didnt vote. The odd thing about my job is the traveling away from the office. I pretty much cover a 100 mile radius from my house. Some of it nice country driving, most unfortunately across the DFW Metroplex.

Re: Commuting

I just traded a 79 mile one way commute (1hr 45 min) for a 7.9 mile (12 min) one way commute in my new job. I'm still giddy! :D :D :D

Re: Commuting

My round trip is 20 kms, or 16 miles. It takes me about 15 minutes each way. Lucky I don't travel during rush hour or it would be double the time. I have to cross one river.

Note to self: must get a smaller house like spinners :D :p

Used to be 60 miles across some of the most fantastic scenery England has to offer (The Lake District: all mountains and lakes) but now it's around 75 feet (95 if I go via the kitchen to get coffee first......hmmm, another memo to self; "must get coffee machine in the office") :D :D

Note to self:
I want to be like Spinner or Stan! :(
Longest:
60 miles one way to warehouse. 1-2 hours depending on Seattle traffic.
100 to 350 miles home depending on sales route back home.
8000 miles a month gets old quick! Mrs.Link wants us to take another job like that when we retire. It was a lot of fun. :)
We both enjoy each others company and the travel.
But I think we should apply for a grant to hunt Big Foot or search for UFO's :D :D
Dont ask
;)

Re: Commuting

I know what you mean rattana, I live around 176 and 96 and have to cross the Portman Bridge everyday to get to Vancouver.
But luckily I start a new job in Surrey in a couple weeks, so I won't have to do the commute anymore.
I will only have to drive 10 minutes to work.
Gotta like it!

Rattana: Where is Portier Pass? You say that is your fav fishing hole.

I live in south Richmond near south arm park.
I'll bet you are looking forward to not doing the commute.

Portier pass is between Gabriolla and Mayne Island, in the Georgia Strait. There are some big ling cod there.

Let me draw this picture for ya Stan.
My bedroom is just across the hall from the puter room, so all I have to do is step through my bedroom door into the computer room. I don't have to wonder all through the house to get here. :p
And yes, I have one of them apartment size fridges and a Mr. Coffee in here with me along with the tanning bed.

Re: Commuting

I did 160 km each way (320 R/T) for 3 years... It was making me sick mentally and physically.
A portion of it in some of the worst traffic in North America...
Now, I am 12 km to work...by car or by boat, but boat is slow because of no wake zone the last few km... it's like a new life living where I work.... I love it.

Re: Commuting

When I was working it was 4 miles one way. Two stop signs and one red light. Took about 7/8 minutes. 13 years of that. Now I dont even have to leave the bedroom to get to my internet computer. :p
