Evening new to all this but NEED HELP. I bought a 1998 Four Winn Horizon and low and below the previous owner didn't winterize it correct and cracked the block. Now I need help trying to find a block and was wondering if anyone could help point me in the right direction? My mode is 302CPBYC and can't seem to find one. I was wondering if a 1988 302AMRGDP block would work as a replacement block or if its too old? Please help point me in the right direction or tell me what other block are interchangeable? Thanks for all the help

The basic engine will be the same but some of the accessories may have to be switched from your old engine.

I was looking to just use the 302am for the block and maybe head and the rest from my old engine? Just wanted to make sure the blocks were the same as far as bolting up to the Volvo/penta outdrive and engine mounts.

the GM 3.0 blocks and heads are ALL the same from OMC/Volvo/Mercruiser. for your 1988, just stick with a 1990 or older longblock.

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,... Any boat with a 3.0l, Newer than 1990 will have the same long block motor as yer's,.....

A Pre-'90, long block motor, will need it's older flywheel, 'n coupler to mount into yer boat,....

OMC, Merc, or Volvo are the same Long Block, with different accessories bolted to 'em,.....

Sorry maybe I didn't say but my motor now is a 1998. I'm having a hard time finding just a block. The 302am is a complete I/o and I just to know if I could use the block to replace mine which is crack? My motor has water in the oil & still runs. Was going to use block to rebuild off my motor and parts, if that's even possible?

The 302am is a complete running motor. Was hoping all my accessories would bolt up to the 302am block

Ayuh,.... You can use either a 2.5l, or 3.0l boat motor Long Block,.....

Ya need to use the OMC dressin's on it though,....

If ya can't find a 3.0l long block, ya ain't lookin' hard enough,....

You can't use a Merc motor, unless ya strip it to a Long Block, 'n put the OMC accessories on it,.....

Goin' to a V6 or V8 means yer drive will be incompatible,....
You'd need a drive for a V6 or V8,...
