I have damaged my prop pretty bad. I really don't have the money for a new one right now.
A) What are the consequences of running my boat with a damaged prop? Can I run it the rest of the summer and replace it this winter?
B) Is there a way for me to pound it back into shape?
C) What can I expect to pay for a new one or to fix this one?

The motor is a 1987 Force 85 horse on a 19 foot BlueFin boat.

Re: damaged prop

From your description I would say don't run it.You could ruin the seals and brearings in the lower unit.I'm not sure of the repair cost but signifigantly less than new.Sometimes a prop shop will have used props in stock.

Re: damaged prop

ok, I'm with you. I'll buy a prop on Ebay. How do I know the exact specs of the prop I need for this motor?

The boat is pretty heavy, a 19 foot BlueFin.

For instance, below is a description off of ebay:

prop off 1 1986 force 85 hp motor. very good condition 19 degree pitch.

How do I know if that is what I need?

Re: damaged prop

There is nothing "inside" the prop but I did find this number on the "hub" of the prop: 072107

Anyway, I bought this boat used and I am a little leary that just because this was the prop on there, it still may not be the best or right or original prop.

Can one of you guys with a manual look of for me the exact specs for the prop for this boat? I would really appreciate it.

Just trying to get my 5 year old on the water so we can fish right next to the dock and catch 3 inch long sunfish!
