Hello All
A friend of mine just bought a 1966 or 67 oceanic v made by imp boats. It is an inboard with an evinrude stern drive. The engine appears to be a general motors v-6. It has the dip on the top of the block to indicate it might be an oldsmobile ,pontiac, or buick. Does anyone have any idea as to what this motor is?
If I remember correctly the casting number on the block is (154083). We are just trying to figure out what it is to get points and such for it.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Richard

That number doesnt come up anywhere for me. It could be a Buick V-6.

Yo disfunctional,

My guess is that it's a Buick 3.8 155 horse. Back then OMC put that in a bunch of boats. But of course, you say it's an evinrude. Is it possible it's an OMC? If it is, it's most likely the Buick v-6. It's what I have in my boat, and sounds like the one you have.

Good luck

Re: Engine size

Ditto here. My book says that it was a Kaiser V6 made by GMC. '67 to '72 it was 155 hp. '66 was 150 hp. 255 cubic inches. Mine still runs sweet with little blow by. Little Rodchester 2bbl carb. Dip stick is a ***** though.
