Evinrude 2002 150 hp E150 FPL SNF keeping EMM cool

[Andy 2002 / 150 hp]

Hi all, trying to keep EMM cool. I cleaned all feed / drains, installed new water pump and installed new vac./sep. & pump. runs great.
This motor is a new purchase. and I'm not sure of its past.
I'm planning to send EMM out for upgrade and want to cover all the bases.
1. I have seen a video that shows re-routing the water supply to EMM directly and not going through vapor separator?
2. Also talked to the person at the EMM repair station and he said to install an additional (Tell-Tail) fitting and route the EMM discharge cooling hose out the side of the cowling like you have for the water pump.
Please let me know if you know of details concerning these questions.
or anything may need to know?

before you start doing any changes.... are you having any " cooling" problems with your FICHT engine or you are just worried ??

did you get yourself EV Diagnostic software to check out any fault codes.

if the engine has been good 21 years I would not start changing things it must be fine....by now

my 2005 EMM on my 75hp ETEC runs fine with no tell tale...mods

maybe get your injectors cleaned by a professionnal shop. DO NOT INTERMIX INJECTOR positions !!
always run with a 10u filter/water separator .
