'73 Evinrude 3 cyl outboard model 65373.. got piston and ring kit for 84-86 which comes with 3/4" wristpin, instead of 5/8" OE.. using same rods there's a kit WP15-1 for converting to new wristpin size. The new bearing kit doesn't come with a plastic bearing carrier like the OE, but has these rings I guess are supposed to fill in the gap..

Anyway, there is some side-to-side play in the piston on the rod, and the needles slide freely. Just wondering if anyone has used these conversion bearings and has any advice. I'm not too concerned since the side to side movement is only about 1/4" total movement from one side to the other, and the needles seem plenty long enough.

Thanks
Mike

That's normal, no problem. The folks at Pro Marine are a pretty good bunch, aren't they?
