force 125 tilt /trim ?

hi there i am repairing my valve body on my tilt trim and was wondering whats the purpose of the tilt trim other then keeping engine lifted up when not in use?<br />what do i do to trim it when moving and why ?<br />also how do i hook a tach up to the motor?<br />thanks again for all the help<br />mike

Hi, Tilt/trim is 2 seperate animals in one body. The tilt portion of it raises and lowers the motor a good bit faster than the trim. The trim is so you can fine tune your motors position depending on the load in the boat in a nutshell. <br />It all works from the same buttons, the tilt motor goes a lot slower if the motor is all the way down. once it is up say 10-15degrees it will go faster....tilt.<br />hth<br />Rich
