1984 85hp Force, almost quit running today at lake. Would run all out, then bog down back and forth until it was barely running.<br />At home took spark plugs out and found bottom one not firing. Motor has what I will call two coil packs. Both have two connectors to plugs. The one plug not firing, neither coil pack # 1 wire will fire it. (One is empty but switching to the other, no fire). When I switch it with either of the other wire connectors from the other coil pack #2, plug fires.<br />So
either the coil pack is dead??? Or what gives this pack power, the stator??? How do I know if this pack is dead or stator? Why two wires for one plug, when the other has two for two plugs?<br />I think I can replace the coil pack if need be, but how do you get to the stator if need be, can't pull crank wheel at top off to check??
