FORCE SHUT'S DOWN WHEN I PUT IT IN GEAR PLEASE HELP???

I GOT A FORCE 125HP 1988 2 STOKE<br />I CHANGE THE FUEL PUMP, CLEANED THE CARBS CHECKED ALL FUEL TUBES CLEANED THE TANK, THE PREVIOUS OWNER DID NOT USE IT FOR ALMOST ONE AND A HALF YEARS SO I DECIDED TO EMPTY THE TANK AND PUT NEW FUEL, WHEN I PUT IT IN GEAR IT SHUT'S DOWN,ALSO WHEN I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AFTER I'M DRIVING IT SHUT'S DOWN THE ONLY WAY I CAN MAKET RUN IS IF I GIVE IT SOME GAS THEN IT GOES FINE IT REACHES UP TO 45 MPH NO PROBLEM IT DOES A LITTLE SKIPING TOO OVER 25-30 MPH I AM SO CONFUSED THAT IT'S DRIVEING ME NUTS CAN SOMEONE HELP ME OUT PLEASE I'LL APPRECIATED?<br />THANX:LEO

JB i did a research it's confusing no one is even close to my problem, give me a hit what to look for please???

leo,have you tried ajusting the idle speed screw's also try closing the low speed jet's one carb. at a time and see if RPM changes.The same as opening the low speed jet's if no increase or decrease is seen carb.you may have to rebuilt them .Another thing to check is that all cylinders are firing at low speed.Remember when ajusting the low speed jet's a little richer is better than to lean.

I have a Force 120 and I had close to the same problem. I checked the compression and found one of the cyclinders at 37#s Way low. Pull apart the powerhead and find that 3 of the 4 pistons are garbage. One is really bad, the rings are broken and the slots where the rings go is riped apart. Scored the cyclinder. So you might want to start by checking the compression. It may be bad news, but it will save you all the time checking other stuff. And a compression checker is cheap, and good to have. <br /><br />Good luck.
