I purchased this used but looks unused cyclone prop off of ebay for my 89 OMC 150. I installed it today and noticed that it was barely rubbing on the front (side toward front of the boat) and loosened it and torqued it back down and it still is hitting. The back looks to be perfect. I double checked the beat to hell prop I took off and it is centered perfectly at both ends. is this common on some props but then balanced afterward where even though there is a little movement it's balanced similar to a car tire after hitting a pot hole too hard, after getting it balanced again its still bent but never causes any vibration or damage. Any thoughts here I'm concerned about this before I run it.

need a picture of the front of both props with hardware. Could be spun, could be rehubed wrong maybe a hardware problem. best guess is spun. a close up should tell.

Ah! I bought a brand new ballistic with the same problem. I could actually see the rubber hub crooked inside the prop. Michigan replaced the hub for free and the replacement ran true.

I tried the old hub on a different prop and it went in true. I guess that sometimes the rubber hubs just don't press in absolutely true and the prop will have runout.

You may need to buy a hub on (I think) hubs.com. They are not too expensive and if you have access to a 6 ton press, you should be able to press out the old and press in the new.
