I own a '97 9.9 merc force and when I buy plugs for it are they gapped allready or do I need to learn how to do this? If so how do I go about gapping my plugs?

Re: Gapping plugs

First, know what the recommended gap is.Then ,get yourself a set of sparkplug gap guages or even a set of flat feeler guages and you're set.If gap is excessive slightly tap adjust the electrode until the proper gap is achieved. If gap is too narrow, carefully wedge open the electrode to adjust gap.<br />I personally never cared for the round sparkplug guages and always use flat feelers.
