Just wondering where people find the 1 quart gear lube pump with the adapter that fits the small force drain screw on the bottom. I believe that it's a 1/8 or 1/4 allen screw? Thank you.
Always include the year, HP and model(if known)
You don't fill from the bottom.
If it has an allen headed set screw then you don't fill from there.
Top stbd. side is the fill vent screws.
Fill from one and then fill from the other when it comes out.
If it is a 85 HP Force, the instruction manual says to fill in the gear oil from the drain screw (allen). I might be wrong but that is in the manual. Be careful NOT to open the Shift Pivot Screw like mine that I pulled it wrongly.
Thanks guy's Jerry is correct. I've always filled from the bottom until oil came from the vent screw. The larger Force engines do have a vent and fill screw just below the cavitation plate. Almost at the same level also... Strange.
They used the vent/fill because the hole for the allen screw is so small.
Just make sure when filling to fill until it comes from the vent and then fill the other way until it comes from the fill.
That makes sure it's got enough oil(maybe a bit too much??).
