GPS Info wanted

I have a Magellan Meridian Gold It's a hand held that can also street route. I am trying to figure out how it determines the route it compiles. It seems to be whacked to me. I think it plots the shortest route no matter what. Secondary roads, switch backs, gravel roads, goat paths, whatever!

Are there any forums out there for these toys??

You would have to look around

But on my Mio handheld in the menu i have a pick of walking,bicycle,car,truck,ect to plan the route

I can also tell it to NOT use local roads and 6 other types of rodes like DO NOT use toll roads

If i do not like a road it uses there are options to not use that road and it will redo the route

And if i drive the way i want to it will figure it out on the fly and redo the route as i drive
