I am trying to find the right grease for the zirk on hinge pin near the trim sender switch.
Manual 14 says to lube it and the gimbal bearing on same page next to gimbal lists the gimbal and u-joint grease does not list grease next to hinge pin.

I assume as not listed it is saying to use gimbal u-joint grease on both.

However, most forums have people saying they use the 2-4-c grease on the hinge pin.

Any ideas and how many pumps of grease do I use?

Ayuh,.... 1st, for Grease,... see below.....

2nd, for # of pumps,...
'bout 10 in the gimbel bearin', 'n til ya see the purged grease from the others....

far as I know, 2-4-C can not be used for the gimbel, 'n u-joint bearin's...
something 'bout 'em slidin', instead of spinnin'...

Okay great so I will hit the gimball and the hinge pins with the ujoint gimball grease. Spring is getting closer every day.

from what i understand, it's the teflon that's in the 2-4-c that makes em' slide intead of spin.

i didn't read yer manual. but on my old mc-1 drive i use 2-4-c in the hinge pins. which i just went and did too. the ujoints and gimble brg. get mercruiser ujoint and gimble brg. grease. this grease is green and for ujoints and gimble brgs.. the 2-4-c is brown and used most places for grease. the other grease i use is mercruier spline grease. it's for the coupler and it's blue.

i'd refer ya to the oem s/m but ya've already read it and it don't seem to state what to use.
