How to remove powerhead on 1968 merc 110

Hey everyone,

Just curious on how to remove the power head on my 1968 9.8 110. Do you have to take lower unit off and somehow reach through the entire transom to get to nuts? I have never done this before and want to make sure i do it right. thanks!
I want to replace crankshaft lower seal, driveshaft to adaptor housing, power head to adaptor plate gasket. and check out water tube seal. I cant find part number on the top watertube seal.?

I cant find anything on how to remove it, other outboards ive found all get remove from the top but when i look at my diagram it looks like theres 6 studs on the bottom so i figured id have to go from bottom. I really have no clue. Can it be removed without dropping lower unit? thanks
