I have the engine sitting on the floor and I want to start it up and let it run a little bit. Just wondering if someone could go through the exact procedure to wire this up to run.. I have the starter hot and ground hooked to the battery. Just not sure what pins on the harness needs to be jumped to get the ignition up and running. can someone walk me through this. I've searched around and can't seem to find what pins do what.

just run a jumper to the coil for a quick run, if longer run needed use a ballast resistor from a auto store inline with the jumper wire or wire jumper to the hot side of the electric choke.
pin 5 is ignition circuit

Agree ^^^

forget the harness and pins. Jumper wire w/ alligator clips from (+) batt to (+) coil or choke as he mentioned.

remove jumper to shut engine off.
