thought it would be fun to vote for the Iboats<br />man/woman of the year and maybe even post of the<br />year.<br />I hereby nominate Plywood as man of the year.<br />while I rarely agree with his point of view,<br />his courage to stand up against the entire forum<br />makes him standout among all others IMO. his<br />alternate posts give a great many people a reason<br />to speak their opinions, which may otherwise never<br />be heard.<br />as for post of the year, I nominate Kenny's<br />"wetlands" post. what a great story and his reslove<br />against city hall was truly noteworthy. even had<br />a happy ending!<br /><br />your nominees?<br /><br />ps. honorable mention to SBN for all his hard work<br />setting up a get-together outa the goodness of his<br />heart

I think this would have to be done in two catagories. <br /><br />This board was created for folks to help each other with boat issues. That's catagory one.<br /><br />Catagory two may deal with "discussion" on non boat related issues.

you are right DJ, there should be nominees in all<br />categories. JasonJ gets my vote in boat repair/<br />rebuilding category for "project skanky beast"<br />snapper or gonfishin in fishing category.

I don't know, Kenny's "Land of the Oppressed" thread was pretty good.<br />Thats the thread that taught me how to post on this forum, if you know what I mean. <br /><br />Have to nominate Castaway for "Man of the year". I don't understand half of his posts, but he sure makes ya think.

I believe that each catagory in this forum would need its own poll.<br /><br />As far as "Dockside Chat" goes, I would have to nominate Spinner_Bait_Nut as man of the year.<br /><br />His "Everyday Funnies" alway's gets the day going.<br /><br />As far as threads go, I'd really have to think about that.<br /><br />I guess I could'nt nominate one of my own!??<br /><br />I'll give an answer to that later.

Not tryin to get corny here Mellow, but that thread taught me a lot, especially your post about "Wettin a line together". <br /><br />Whether ive ever said it or not, I appreciate what you said, and it stuck with me.<br /><br />I was really just startin to post on this particular forum, and I was gettin all worked up, and you fired back with that post,............ made me understand that we can disagree about anything in the world, but at the end of the day remain "friends". As silly as it may sound, that affected, and continues to affect the way I post on any internet forum.<br /><br />Your one of them fella's that keeps me comin back to this forum.<br /><br />Thanks, and Happy New Year to you. <br /><br />btw - I would really like to be Shemp, if that position has not been filled.

Man of the year--I nominate JB. I know he took on an awesome responsibility as a moderator and he helps to keep us straight.<br /><br />Everyone esle can be runnerups-- we dont always agree, but thats what makes this family work.<br /><br />Post of the year---Cats in the Boat or how to get rid of them.

My vote goes to those folk that laid their hearts bare to ask for help with everything from difficult children to helping their neighbour with marraige difficulties. To you all I give my admiration and respect, you thought for others selflessly and gave without recieving anything more than pride and sometimes a loss.<br />To all those that replied I give my respect for the open, truthful, and big hearted advise and experiences you shared.
