I was checking out ebay and came across a boat with the following description. I thought it was a bit humorous.
__________________________________________
Its that time of year almost. Here we go, i am young 21 year old man that makes snap designs like all young men my age. Every year i go to Canada on a 7 Day trip on a big lake and rent a little 15 foot boat with a dinky motor on the back. Last summer i took this bad boy, i bought it at a public sale a couple of weeks before my trip. After taxes and registration i paid about 850$, hahah then i had to pump another $550 in the motor to get it to run. The boat was great but after all said and done i spent about 2000$ on this boat for one week of fishing. Well after day 5 my steering rod snapped and the boat was done. So basically i paid 2 Grand for 5 days with this boat and on top of that i didn't catch any monsters my girl caught all them. So enough iof my struggle heres the boats story. You are buying a 1977 Glastron 17 foot bass boat with what i believe to be a 1979 Mercury 850 outboard motor(85hp). This baby flys she goes a good 50 with three adults in it. Included is a trailer which i do not know the year. I have the title for the boat none for the trailer the trailer is regerstiered with the Nj dmv and is in my name, i got a homemade title for it to register it but they didn't give me a title. The boat has two deck seats which need to be fixed or replaced, and two first deck seats there are two live wells and two storage compartments, along with the back compartment with the battery gas tank. There is a hydraulic lift with the motor which works however the line for the motor to go down has a hole in it i just taped it needs to be replaced. The battery is brand new summer of 05', and the trailer bearings were repacked summer of 05'. In canada i snapped the steering cable which ended my fishing trip that also needs to be replaced. The boat needs a little work and for a little of time and money could be really nice. Like i said i am a young 21 year old man i move from one to another and i don't want the boat anymore. As far as the motor it is old, however runs like a champ. The motor was running with no problems in the summer of 05'. To start it it needs to be choked and like any old motor a good minute to warm up. I did not get this motor winterized however the motor does crank, but i am no mechanic i cannot get it to turn over. She is not seized!!!! I recommend bidders to come and look at the boat maybe you would like to look at the motor i might just be missing something and it could start right up. I am selling the boat as is, I guarentee the boat to float and the trailer to roll. All lights on the trailer work as well as the front and back lights on the boat. There is also Bilge pump that is in working condition. Comes with extra prop and spare tire with rim. This would be a nice starter boat for anyone, or even a nice boat for local lake fishing, i thought of just selling the motor and putting an electric motor on the back but to much work shes got to go. There is no reserve on this boat and there is no shipping pick up only i will deliver withing 300 miles for 2 dollars a mile. I hope i got everything please ask any questions or call *** *** **** to come and look at the boat.

Hmmm, he is bailing out just before all the real fun starts! Quitter or just discouraged? It may be a diamond in the rough to the right person.

LOL

I saved this little C & P from an ebay auto description:

This is going to be a all out auction for a . . . it is a good runner and it runs good . . . the reserve is on the low side and will be lowered then depending on the bids dropped
Makes me laugh everytime I read it.

Sometimes you just have to cut your losses. I had an older tri hull that I poured some cash into and then dumped it when the water pump destroyed itself and gave me some real good compression numbers. But for a measily stearing problem........he might be cuttin too early

Two grand for a week on a lake in Canada is not that bad. If he gets a sawbuck for it he is ahead.

I remember what I was like at 21 although my downfall then was cars and girls.....both ruined me financially with impulse spending :( :(

Nice to see an honest description.....wonder if he's learned a valuable lesson at a young age?

Hmmm. where is pony these days ? :D :D :D
