is there more than 1 size hub/input shaft for the 2.3? alignment tool won't fit hub

i just swapped out a 2.3 in an old bayliner, i cant get the alignment tool to go into the hub. i have used this tool for years mostly on mercruisers but i know i did at least 2 omc's.
so did they make a smaller input shaft for them?
the engine came complete with the bellhousing and hub, etc... so i did not swap over my old stuff from my engine. now i am praying this is not a problem.

Should be exactly the same. Sounds like you have some alignment to do.

Ayuh,.... I've never found a coupler my alignment bar don't fit,....
