looking for model # for 1979 or 1980 Sailmaster 6 or 8 hp

Hi All,
I have a 1979 or 1980 Johnson Sailmaster that is either a 6 hp or 8 hp motor. I need to get a carb rebuild kit for it but I can not find the model # anywhere on the motor. I also have the entire OMC Service Manual for 2 thru V6 models and I can't find from the Service Manual where the model # is on the motor. Any help? Thanks in advance..... Wes

You'll find it on the port side of the transom bracket. If it's not there, look on the powerhead for a quarter sized metal disk.
