Lost OMC Cobras lower unit. replace with SE109 or SE116

So after months of trying to get my omc working properly i finally threw my gears out. Trying to get input on which route to go. you can get the SE109 replacement lower unit for $900 or i can get the converstion kit and the whole SE116 outdrive for $2000. Would the SE109 solve my shift problems? or should i just switch the whole outdrive. i understand they are both clutch dog systems, but I haven't read about any of the cobra problems with the SE drives. Thanks in advance

If you replace the transom assembly also then go with either. To your exact question were going to need Rick HT32BSX115 and don't know if he is available right now. If not he will be back.
