Lower unit compatibility

I have a 1993 force 120 outboard. I recently damaged the prop and lower unit housing. I have came across a 1984 force 85 with a bad powerhead but good lower unit. Will this lower unit work with my motor? If not what is compatible with my motor?

Try to post pics of both units.

I think you need 3 post to add on the site.

The 84 85 has a 1 piece drive shaft.
The 93 has a 2 piece shaft.
If the shafts are the same? it might work.

The gear ratio is different.

Get the 85, break it down and sell for parts.
Lower can get as much as 500 the trim 300 the ignition 2-300
These prices are on the high end.
Sell them and buy a new lower.

it should work - the one thing you need to check is that they are both 20" lower units or both 25" lower units.
