How much would be approximately the yearly maintenance and operative costs of a boat such as this one: Topcraft 420 Comfort

I would use it only in the summer 1 or 2 days per week. And the winter here are cold, let's say -10 degrees on the coldest days. Also, I would leave it in the water in the canals (I live in Amsterdam), just covered.

Should I bring the engine in a garage during the winter?
thanks

Pretty much impossible to say based on the information given. When you say being used 1 or 2 days a week, will you be motoring 2 or 4 or 6 or 8 hours each day? Do you pay for mooring the boat on the canal? I have no idea what boat registration and insurance would run in the Netherlands. Just way to many variables and not enough information to give even a wild guess, sorry. However at 10 degrees celcius which is about 50 degrees farenheit you should be able to leave the engine on the boat 24/7.

If that is an outboard driven boat, the outboard can stay on even during freezing temps. The water drains out since it is vertical.

Boats deteriorate much faster if left outdoors in the winter - you are better off storing it indoors if you can. Consider factoring this into your costs. In North America, the best way to have a boat stored outdoors is to have it professionally shrink-wrapped, which, plus storage, costs abou $500 a year (including the costs of four to six months storage).

FIgure: gas, docking fees, regular maintenance on the engine, plus repairs if there is a problem.
