Hey-have a quick question. How do you know what prop is correct for the maximum performance of my boat? Is a 3 blades better than a 2 blade. I have a 19ft grady white fiberglass tri-hull boat. It a very stout boat. I have a 135 merc outboard. Good top end, but very little acceleration during take off. Any info would be helpful. Thank you-you guys are awesome -Sharon:p

Re: merc 1350 & props

You'll want the prop that puts your top rpm in the area that you want it. IE - if you're looking for 5500 or 5800 or 6000 with an average load, look for the prop that will put you as close as possible with an average load. You'll need to test something just to establish a baseline, then adjust from there. Your set up will have a lot to do with the final results.

Tell us what you have and how it performs. We'll run the numbers and calculate slip. Then we'll have a starting point.
