I have a Mercruiser Alpha Gen II 3.0. I gave up on the bellows and got the cheater tube. I installed it and trimmed the motor all the way down and did a check. I expected when trimmed down that the tube would go over top of the bellhousing boss but that isn't the case. Is it supposed to? I got the Sierra 18-2760 which says its for the alpha and bravo's. Thanks for all help!

Yes, while not designed for the Alpha, if it is installed on the transom plate it should go over the bell housing side, that is if it is not deformed.

Is it to long or just not going over the end?

It would be some, but IMO not that much. When your on plane and trimmed out it would make no difference
