I have an older Mercruiser, maybe MR? , and the tilt trim has ceased to work.

Pulled the limit and position sensors off the off the drive and cleaned them up. Still nothing. They looked horrible though so I’m guessing that’s my issue?

How can I bypass these until I replace them? Is it as simple as connecting a couple wires at the pump?

Making a bit of progress.....maybe. Lol.

so, while I cleaned up the switches, the wires are complete garbage after they pass through the transom. I need to replace the switches and wires.

Still would like like to bypass for the time being.

Ayuh,...... Welcome Aboard,...... Jumper the trim switch to the trailer switch, either at the helm, or at the pump,......

Where the trim limit switch wires come through the transom, follow the wires to the bullet connectors, 'n by-pass the trim switch there,.....

Yer choice,.....

Thanks, Bondo!

Looks like a blue blue wire and a purple wire come from the transom, into bullet connectors, and then disappear into a bundle.

To bypass, do I just connect the B and P wire together?

Ayuh,..... Donno what colors you'll find, but there's 4 wires,......

2 for the trim limit, 'n 2 for the gauge sender,......
