Hi all,

I just wanted to thank everyone for all the help with this engine. She is really running great.

Since I got the head re-surfaced, the compression in my bad cylinder (#2), has come all the way back up. I had it out today and checked the compression when I got back to the ramp (#1- 140, #2- 140, #3- 150).

The only thing left to fix is some leaking in the lower unit.

I've also got a lot of vibration at all speeds. I'm guessing that this is because my prop is in poor condition. Lots of bends and dings. One blade has a 1/2" gash out of the end also. Does this sound like my problem?

Thanks again everyone!

Shane

Shane,

Glad to hear it.

Yes, your prop can cause that. It could aslo be causing some of your lower unit troubles.

It's not good to run an outboard with a damaged prop.

It's sort of like driving a car around with a flat tire.
