Nav light repair

I have Hurricane deck boat with the canvas top. The rear nav light is (was) affixed to the rear bar of the canvas top. It was actually like this when I got the boat. Looks like the screws were literally pulled out from the bar so needless to say the holes are too big for the screws.

What is the best way to fix this so I can ensure the nav light is back in place securely?

Thanks

You could drill through the current hole and bolt it on to the bar or put some type of filler in the screw holes and then drill and screw back into it after it has cured. You may also want to look around for navigation lights that mount to bow rails. Usually they have a knob you turn which tightens a screw against the rail, might work in your case.

Drill and tap .. use machine screws.

Or through bolt them like blue said. You can cap the screws with Acorn nuts or use rubber vacuum caps.
