I just picked up an old Crest pontoon boat, previous owner says boat and motor are 1972. The motor is a 50HP Johnson (Mod. 50ESL72C S/N 3638260) The Control box say's "HYDRO-ELECTRIC DRIVE" on the face. It only has 1 control cable that goes to the throttle and the cable is shot, Both plastic ends that go on the cable with set screws are good. I am posting a picture of the cable because nothing I've seen looks like it. Printed on the cable is "Outboard Marine Corporation" Please help me to ID this cable.
All my other boats always used 2 cables, does this setup shift (forward/reverse) electrically ?
Thanks for any advice on this. Jay
