IMG_1182.jpgIMG_1183.jpgIMG_1184.jpgI just picked up an old Crest pontoon boat, previous owner says boat and motor are 1972. The motor is a 50HP Johnson (Mod. 50ESL72C S/N 3638260) The Control box say's "HYDRO-ELECTRIC DRIVE" on the face. It only has 1 control cable that goes to the throttle and the cable is shot, Both plastic ends that go on the cable with set screws are good. I am posting a picture of the cable because nothing I've seen looks like it. Printed on the cable is "Outboard Marine Corporation" Please help me to ID this cable.

All my other boats always used 2 cables, does this setup shift (forward/reverse) electrically ?

Thanks for any advice on this. Jay

Re: Need help identifing control cable

The cables were known as "long life" or 400 series. They should be available here on I-Boats. Only one cable required as it was for the throttle and the shifting was done electricaly.

The cables I saw listed had a barrel on the control end not the ball like in my picture. Are the interchangeable?

Thanks
