need your help,trolling mtr hook up?

I just bought a trolling mtr it is a motor guide 12 or 24 volt hook up,it has 3 wires one red,one white and one black.it is a 1996 whisper quite and was wondering on how to hook her up?And also how to wire the batteries for the 12 or 24 volt system.It is a bow mount for my center console boat that ive been building for a year now.It says it is a 56 lb thrust mtr, is this on 12? or does it increase when i go 24volts,thanks for the info ahead of time.

I should add that you need to check the wiring from the batteries to the troller. There might be three or four wires in a 24 volt system. If there is a panel at the bow with a 12/24/Run/Charge switch there more than likely is four wires. Note also that red, orange, and black are used in the diagram but your motor has red, white and black. White and black are both used as ground wires in many systems but MG in their infinite wisdom has chosen to use one or the other as ground. Make sure you sort that out via the MG web site.

thanks everyone i have it hooked up and its works great! mine is a 3 wire one blue,yellow and black.
