New years resolutions (not wishes)

I have started a few days early on my new year's resolution. I will lose 50 pounds before next summer! I know it is a hefty goal (no pun intended ;) ) but I gained this weight only in the last 5 years. Time for it to come off. I have been very busy with other things in my life. Time to focus on health and getting through doorways again ;) .

The plan: Work out 5 times a week in the mornings. I have been working out off and on (much more off) for the last year and a half which has helped me to already lose 30 pounds. That's right, I was 80 pounds chunked out! Yikes. I will be counting my calories and using slimfast because it is easy. I am taking pictures tonight of my fatness :) and will take follow-up pics once a month. Once I get to my goal (190 pounds) I'll post them for you to mock and print out to use as target practice. For few of you who know me personally, I don't do resolutions lightly but it will still be a big challenge in the time-frame.

Please share your own personal resolutions (not wishes) to thousands of fellow boating strangers!

Admin5,

Good luck, we'll be pulling for you.

One word of caution-burnout. I'm afraid five times a week will burn you out.

Kenny, I don't understand, you want to lose 25 lbs AND a new boat? I would much rather lose an old boat myself. :p

Nothing better than looking after yourself.
it will pay off big dividends years down the
road.
I've mentioned it before, but I will say it again
in hopes you will try it.
Drink lots of water and before long the pounds
will melt away, keep up an exercise routine but
dont over do it. You will loose weight in your
sleep.

1. get back to 5 days/week in the gym. did it for years, the little one shows up, and i stop. should be the easiest.

2. eat a bit healthier. if i get 2-3 veggies in the diet each week, it would be an improvement.

3. quit the smokeless tobacco. done this before as well, and came back for no reason at all.

plan is to eat, drink, and spit until i'm sick on new year's eve. by the 1st, i'll be ready to hit all 3 goals head on. good luck all-

Admin5
Interesting idea. I've never made a "new years" resolution and will not now. However if I should, putting it out in front of thousands of people would be a good idea.
Something we did do toady thats been on our minds for years! OK Wife did but I had to talk on the phone too :)
The Motto in my wifes Navy reserve unit is "In God we Trust! Everyone else we Watch" So she files everything!
She pulled out the file containing all of those credit cards that come in the mail! About 15 or more and called each one to make sure they were not active. This took a couple hours but we did find one still active from 1995! It had never been used but needed to be closed out.
Hooray!!!

Reduce debt, and ride my mountain bike more. I rode it twice last year, and that is unacceptable, considering I used to ride constantly. Daily 30 mile trips and weekend 100 milers were not unusual back in the day, but I doubt I'll ever be that nuts again....

1) back to the weight bench--got to tighten back up and build stamina

2) more patience for day to day stuff--older I get, less the little stuff matters, but my God, now and then-

3) back on track with CFRA (Campbell Fiscal Responcability Act)-is a budget system my lovely bride and I use

Hubby and I are training for a 10K race in 2004. That's my goal from July for the next year. So, now you know.
