Nissan 25 HP 1992

I would like any information on putting a 35 HP carburetor on a 25 HP outboard. This boat is a very light racing boat. I hear this application can be done. Any info regarding this venture would be appriciated.^

Not an expert but these modifications typically take more than just a carb.<br />Probably at least carb,reeds,and porting.<br /> If you think about it you want to increase<br /> the power by almost 50%. Not likely to happen<br />with just a carb.

A few years ago I asked a tech at maxrules.com about the difference between a '99 25 and 30HP as they are basically the same engines. This is his reply:<br /><br />"Aloha - -<br /><br />My Nissan service manual shows both the 25C2 and the 30A3 and 30A4 at 25 <br />degrees BTDC total advance. I suspect the only difference is a restrictor <br />plate between the carburetor and manifold. Also, check the cam that opens <br />the carburetor, ensure that it opens the butterfly all the way!"<br /><br />A swedish dealer later confirmed the only difference is the restrictor plate (ie carb gasket). <br /><br />Have you already done that?
