I have a 1979 chrysler 20 hp motor that hasn't been run for a while. When I started it up it ran great but a few hour after I shut it off I noticed a bit of oil running down the exhaust port and just a small bit coming from the junction at the lower end. I was wondering if this was normal or if something needs fixed.
Thanks

Hi chris....if the fluid is a dark black, it's just unburned oil and carbon and nothing much to fear...just makes a mess. You may be able to lesson the drip by a good decarb. Might want to check the spark plug gap also. Poor spark can cause poor combution in the cylinders resulting in nasty black oil ejection. A good tune up maybe all the engine needs. Do not forget compression readings on each cylinder.

Hey Chris,

Had the same worry when purchasing my boat. The previous two replys were absolutely correct in my case. No worries!!!
