Re: Old Johnson 115hp
Very common motor, very reliable, and hold up well in salt water. Also very gas hungry. That motor was Johnson/Evinrude's bread and butter.

Check the compression on all four cylinders - the compression should be nearly the same on all four. Run the boat on the ocean/lake at full throttle and idle. (Running out of the water tells you nothing.) Check the fluid in the lower unit, look for water or metal chips (a little fine metal on the magnetic drain plug is normal).

Any warranty?

If you buy it, you will want to put in a fresh water pump impeller, clean the carbs, check the overheat alarm, and have someone check over the autolube (unless it's been disconnected - which would be a good thing).
