Hi guy's. I have a 1983 galaxy with a 2.5L OMC .My problem started last year on the first trip of the season. As i was crusing in the calm harbor at about 10 mph, upon entering the lake I hit a really big wave and the motor stalled. I tried to restart it but it would'nt start. So i drifted back into the harbor and tossed out the anchor. After about 15 minutes of sitting there it started so i pulled the anchor and headed back to the dock. The motor stalled several times on the way back to the dock but i made it ok. Long story short, I had the carb rebuilt and tried to go out again. Now it still has a stalling issue. Sometimes when just idling and sometimes when running at any given speed. When it stalls it sounds like its starving for fuel. I have checked the anti siphon valve which was replaced 3 years ago and it seems fine. Also pulled the tube out of the gas tank and the screen in the bottom of the tube was unblocked.I disconnected the fuel line to the carb and cranked the motor to see if the fuel pump was pumping gas and it does.Is it possible that i have a loose connection in my ignition switch under the dash or some other electrcal connection problem causing this stalling issue when hitting waves?
