Optimax 115

What do you guys think of this motor I am just about ready to buy new boat with this set up my first big outboard. I have always had merc. inboards but ready to switch over to outboards seems like the newer ones are a lot better than the older ones. Plus this is a three star rating so I guess that means it can go into all waters right? Thanks for any help.........

Before you do check out the Evinrude E-Tec 115hp, I to am/was a Merc user with no complaints, I still own 2 Mercs but have just placed an order for a E-Tec 115hp to replace a very faithfull Merc 90hp, I have done stacks of reading and in my opinion the E-Tec runs rings around the Opti, as for the 3 star rating check out this site http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2262354780091848696uWyEBD

Chunder, Thanks for the reply the E-Tec is the orignal motor I was thinking about I have not been able to talk to any body that has run one. But every thing I have read sounds pretty darn good I think I will hold off on the new boat till I know what I really want. The old boat has never let me down so I will keep awhile longer. Plus these new boats are expensive:^:% so I really want the best set up I can afford Thanks again....... p.s. the link really helped to.
