My windows mobile 5 PDA is the easy way :D

Other than exporting a big "backup.pst" file with all the subfolders which will take your contacts and everything else i have no idea

That's pretty much what I have been doing... it's a PITA!
I know there's some software out there someplace that automates the process.

Re: Outlook 2003 Synchronization

I'm not aware of anything other than what was mentioned with the PST file. AFAIK, Micosoft's solution would be to get Exchange server.

I don't know how you feel about web based email, but I have several pop accounts that are personal accounts and I have all of them forwarded to my Gmail which I access from both my desktop and laptop. When I send from my Gmail, I can set the "From:" to any of my accounts, even my work address.

For my work email I just use Thunderbird on my laptop. I will also occasionally access my work email through our webmail but it only shows new messages that haven't been downloaded to my laptop.

What email system do you have at work?

What email system do you have at work?

Self-employed, no work server.
Email accounts through pop3 @sbcglobal.net

Just switched my email there from Compuserve(AOL).

So now, when I receive email on one machine, it's not there for the other. So I need to synch.

Here's something you can try, though I know of few who are satisfied with it... In your email program's settings, there's an option to leave the mail on the server. The default behavior is once you've downloaded your mail, it's deleted off the server. The trick is to know which computer is set to leave it on the server. You'll want to make sure that computer has gotten the mail before you check it with the other.

You could set both computers to leave mail on the server but you'll eventually exceed your disk quota on the server.

---

Another option, see if the email account can be IMAP instead of pop3. IMAP stays on the server so you may be able to get both computers to work like you want. It works a little different than pop3 so you may not like it though. It's really not bad once you understand its quirks though.

Re: Outlook 2003 Synchronization

What I used to do is set a rule in outlook to forward all incoming mail to my home account. Simple and gets the job done. Keep in mind this will only work for mail and wont help with calander sync. Hope that helps.

Compuserve was an IMAP account... AT&T is POP3 only.
Thanks for the suggestions guys.
