Got the kabosh on anglefire and now from villagephotos. Villagephotos is saying daily usage has been exceeded. Does anybody have any other sites that will allow you to upload photos?

Re: Posting photos

step by step:

1. www.photoisland.com

2. register

3.brings you to screen with a pic of island in middle.

4.on left hand side of screen there is an upload image option.click on it.

5.Another screen comes up with 4 browse boxes in the middle of the screen . click on the first browse.

6.the pics from your hard drive will come up in a window in the top left corner of screen.

7. double click the image you want. The text goes into the browse box automatically.

8.below browse boxes is an upload box. click on it.

9. It will ask you to name file. Name it.

10. after it uploads it will come up as a thumbnail.Double click on the image. This will enlarge it.

11.after it enlarges the pic there will be a list of options on left side of screen.

12. select very last option. It reads "link for auction etc"

13. click on the highlight text button.

14. press cntrl c on your key board.

15. go back to boatingabc click on post reply.

16 scroll down to where the options are , click on image.

17. A window will come up, click in the text space in the window and paste.

( there may already be a http// in text box . I had to delete before pasting or else once I pasted, http// was there twice and it wouldnt work)

18 . Add reply

Copy: You hold the left button on your mouse down and make the cursor(by moving the mouse) go over what you want to copy.It will highlight what it is going to copy blue.
After all that you want to copy is highlighted then right click on your mouse.
Some options will come up.One of them will say copy.

Left click on that word copy and everything that is highlighted blue is copied in your computers memory.

Paste: Then go to where you want to put the info you copied.Left click the mouse to get the cursor in the box or place you want it.

Then right click mouse. Options will come up. one will say "paste". left click on paste and everything you copied from before will show up in that box.

URL: That is simply the internet adress or website that your pic is being sent from.

Basicaly everytime someone opens this thread the software has to go to photoisland and get the pics.
The only way it knows where to go is because we tell it what adress (or URL) to go to when we paste that info in the "Image" block.

Thats why sometimes they wont show up.There was an interface problem between the board software & the internet site where the pic is coming from.

Re: Posting photos

I have had the same problem with pic hosting sites. A guy who has a website dedicated to Silverline boats is posting a write-up with pics of my project, so that will fix that problem for me, but I think I will also talk to my sister. She builds webpages and has all sorts of server room, I'll see if I can bogart some space from her to fix my pic problems once and for all...

Re: Posting photos

That did the trick boatingfool. Pretty fast site. The whole thing took about 2 minutes including the upload. Thanks again

Re: Posting photos

Eurolarva, I thought I "exceeded my daily limit" also, but received the following message from villagephotos. I've used this site for over a year with no problem linking before.

We are currently performing maintaince on our file servers.
External linking has been temporarily disabled for FREE users only. When we have corrected the performance issue with our file servers we will re-enable external linking for our free accounts.

Sorry for being so dumb. Why can't Iboats have an area/ability to post pics? It's such a great site in so many other ways.

The name is cost neil2fish.
It takes money to be able to host pictures as in bandwidth cost.
That is why a lot of your free sites won't allow linking to your pictures.
