The power Trim/trailer connections were corroded so I took them apart to clean them and then reconnected them. There are 4 wires and are as follows from top to bottom:
Green with White Stripe- Top
Red- Metal plate is conneted to Red Wire
Green- Metal Plate is also attcehd to Metql Plate
Red Wire- Botttom

I did tighten the two nuts behind the metal plate as well. Now if I connect the ground and then the power wire the battery sparks like crazy and I don't want to blow a fuse or worse, the pump. Can someone tell me if I reattached the wires correctly and why when I attempt to make the power connection, it sparks?

Was I suppose to tighten the two nuts behind the metal plate?

Need more info; pic would help. Don't understand the "trailer" part of the trim/trailer comment you made unless you mean that the trim unit has a button to use when trailering......i.e push the button and the engine tilts to full up.

Don't know about the screws you mention. I guess you are talking about how the unit connects to boat wiring; like a junction box sort of thing. General rule:

Each wire has a specific function and should only contact it's respective terminal....no overlaping of terminals/connectors with adjacent wiring.

Only one wire connects to the engine frame; hence what is called GROUND, or the - terminal of a battery operated system.

All the other wires shall not contact ground as to do so would "short-out" that function as you would short out (remove) the power (voltage) that is required to accomplish that function.

Usually ground wires are black, voltage sources (power inputs) are usually red and can be traced back to the battery + terminal. Other functional wiring will be of different colors.
