Prop Advice needed - keeping motor, swapping boats

Looking for some advice on propellor selection for my new project.

Had a twin engine 1989 30 foot Velocity poker run boat. Slaxton built 496's which dynoed at 575 HP and 590 ft-lbs. Ran 4 blade 30" pitch SS props
on Bravo 1 drives. The boat was awesome. Boat weight dry was about 6500 lbs.

One engine calved  so sold the boat bare, less engines, drives, gimbals.

Will be installing one of the 496's in a 2002 Caravelle Interceptor, 26 foot, (told it is a splash of 24 foot Mirage hull), marked as F24 on the hull. Boat weight is about 4000 lbs. Installation planned for next spring, testing as soon as the ice goes out.

Thinking that the 30" 4 blade may not be the right prop for this configuration boat - suggestions ????

Thanks in advance.

Agree that 30 won't be right. Sounds like a 65+ MPH boat on the way. What drive ratio?

Yep, should have mentioned that.

The I/O is a 1.5 to 1 ratio.

Thanks

Meant to add this to the above BUMP ......

Wish list is for effortless cruising at mid 30 mph range (2300 rpm ???), quick to get on plane and with infrequent top end blasts.

I'm leaning towards a cupped 4 blade at 27" pitch. Any feedback ............................

Big tabs? K-planes? For low speed I like. This may be a 70+ MPH boat. 27 may be light. I think I'd poke around at www.offshoreonly.com

QC,

Thanks for the input.

The boat currently has only small trim tabs, about 12" X 12". Definitely needs larger, but not within the immediate budget.

The Caravelle V24 hull is a deep V, unlike the Velocity I previously owned which was a deep V with a running pad. I read somewhere on the i-net that the 26 foot Caravelle is a splash of an older 24 foot Mirage hull that was raced in an ocean racing class, but have not found any confirmation.

Will check out the offshore site you referenced.
