Salvage Titles for boats

I got 2 boats from a carlot owner that rented some land he wanted the boats off the lot. I do not know the original owner and I do have reg#s off the boats I need help finding out howto get salvage titles for these boats I'm rebuilding them and sell one and keep the other Please help.

I don,t know how they do it in Fla. but where i live you get a registration form the d.n.r. and fill everthing out that you know and than explain in writing were the boat came from along with a letter from the carlot owner. :D

Be careful!<br /><br />If there is a maritime lien against one of these boats (NO requirement for disclosure) you will have to pay.....<br /><br />A U.S Marshall sale is the only reliable way to ensure a clean title.

you don't need salvage titles. go to your local dmv office and run printouts using the I.D. numbers off the boats. If there is no legal owner of record i.e. bank or finance company, you can attempt to contact the registered owner (off the printout). If that fails, you do a lien sale. Thats how it is done in California. good luck
